Overtime Pay in the Philippines in a Nutshell

Most of us are not strangers to working overtime. If you have never worked overtime in your life, you are almost a unicorn.

Most of us, too, have received overtime pay (“OT pay”) at some point. Overtime pay is the additional payment for work performed in excess of the standard 8 hours per day.

How much is the OT pay according to DOLE? OT pay is:

  • Plus 25% of the hourly rate for work performed in excess of 8 hours on ordinary day. 
  • Plus 30% of the hourly rate for work performed in excess of 8 hours on rest day, special day or regular holiday.
