Each of us has experienced stress in our lives. More so in work-related stress which is normal and reasonable especially with the constant pressure and deadlines that meet each employee. However, stress, especially chronic stress, can have harmful effects emotionally, mentally, and even physically.
Stress from work can come from different sources such as low income, heavy workload, lack of control or support, and conflicts or challenges that may arise. These are only a few yet impactful causes of stress that can affect one’s health. Constant stress can lead to brain fog, migraines, stomach aches, lower memory retention, and attention. It can also cause anxiety, insomnia, depression and could lead to an unhealthy lifestyle such as overeating or undereating and increases their chances of cardiovascular diseases.
